Objective
$ l, z# u/ w$ H1 D8 XRecently, we demonstrated that normal human BM (hBM)-derived CD34+ cells, released into the peripheral blood (PB) after granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) mobilization, contain cell subpopulations committed along endothelial and cardiac differentiation pathways. These subpopulations could play a key role in the regeneration of post-ischemic myocardial lesion after their direct intracardiac delivery. We hypothesized that these relevant cells might be issued from very small embryonic-like stem cells (VSELs) deposited in the BM during ontogenesis and resident all life long in the adult BM and that they could be mobilized into PB by G-CSF." a6 |3 V& P* w2 A6 D: u

Immunofluorescence and reverse transcription-quantitative-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) assays were performed to analyse the expression of typical pluripotent stem cells (PSC) markers.
