这一(自我更新)过程（的实现）要有对细胞周期的控制，并常涉及多能性的维持（mutipotency or pluripotency，根据不同的干细胞而定）。

cell cycle control和maintenance of都是requires的宾语，often是用来修饰maintence的，意思是“往往”也需要（在自我更新过程中）维持多能性。8 q4 G( W" V* D$ k4 R8 Z
