The cheetah is widely recognized

3 h% A& S$ P r7 V" y4 F. nteam from the Royal Veterinary College, UK, working with the Botswana Predator 0 I- ^: S% z! A" E7 z6 u$ M+ [# e
Conservation Trust, has used custom-built tracking collars containing GPS and
( L! [, j' j6 F& M) r( i# H+ oinertial measurement units to capture the locomotor dynamics of cheetahs hunting . T5 T- W) o! S% q9 w6 t( m
in the wild. The
( t+ b" h6 d: x1 `top speed observed was 25.9 metres per second (93 kilometres per hour). Most ) Y% n4 a7 `; ?7 P
hunts involved only moderate speeds, their success relying on a combination of
