/ N9 n; U! E( @3 z* U: N G& ~On the cover: Sprouting endothelial cells growing on a cytodex bead embedded in fibrin. In response to secreted growth factors from fibroblasts seeded on top of the gel, the endothelial cells form patent vessels and networks. The sprouts can be visualized by phalloidin marking the cytoskeleton. The different colors represent the depth of each vessel in relation to the bead with red/orange vessels sprouting outward and blue/purple vessels sprouting backward.
