In ES or iPS cells, the genes can be divided into several types according their chromatin modification. Particularly, there are a group of genes whose chromotin are modified with H3K27me3 and H3K4me3 (the bivalent promoter) and these genes are relevant with differentiation, that is, when the ES or iPS cells are differentiated, the H3K27me3 mark was erased.[attach]56243[/attach][attach]56242[/attach]

。DNA甲基化调控基因表达一方面是启动子甲基化，抑制基因表达，所以会有Bivalent promoter（基因启动子共价修饰）。染色质的的基本组成单位是核小体，而核小体核心是由组蛋白H2A、H2B、H3、H4各两分子组成，同时有146bp的DNA缠绕。所以，bivalent chromatin（染色质共价修饰）是不是其组成成分、如组蛋白乙酰化、甲基化、磷酸化等化学修饰。我也是刚开始接触，以后希望多交流。

bivalent chromatin 指组蛋白的H3K27me3 和 H3K4me3的双重修饰，前者抑制基因表达，而后者促进基因表达。哺乳动物发育相关基因所在的染色体常是 bivalent chromatin，处于待表达（poised）状态。在ESCs分化过程中，由于外界分化信号等的刺激，许多lineage-specific 基因的H3K27me3修饰降低，或H3K4me3修饰升高，基因开始表达。这种基因的双价修饰可以使细胞更迅速和精确地控制分化基因的的表达。

Thanks. That means the bivalent chromatin or bivalent promoter only exists in embryonic tissues not in somatic tissues, is it right?
