Abstract: Mechanism of carcinogenecity and cancer progression has been explored for decades, however it is, G; r9 ^% b7 ~" c
still unclear because of the complexity of carcinogenesis progress, the limited techniques, and lack of7 `( u! L( E& e! \
knowledgements. Recently, cancer stem cells from several types of tumors were isolated, identified and preliminarily* |: I- j% @4 j( z
characterized, which might provide a novel clue for explanation of tumorigenesis and establishment of* ^* e" Z& F9 t( z5 @3 x
novel strategy of effective chemotherapy. Many reports have suggested that cancer stem cells possessed the+ P7 l, g. |2 w5 H( M. i$ F
properties of self-renewal, strong potentials of proliferation, which might play important roles in progression,
# {( ]7 v! K* t% Vrecurrence and metastasis of cancer. Meanwhile, chemotherapeutic failure may be associated with the drug. _; U* O( [8 D8 k& s$ c1 U) s
