On the cover: Developmental axon pruning shapes wiring specificity of neural circuits. In this issue, Yu et al. (pages 456–468) identified an immunoglobulin superfamily protein, Plum, that is cell autonomously required for axon pruning of Drosophila mushroom body neurons. Plum orchestrates the axon-pruning program by facilitating TGF-β signaling, which activates the expression of steroid hormone ecdysone receptor. The cover image shows a branch of plum tree in the process of being pruned. Photographed by X.M. Yu.! t' O l/ P; @
