On the cover: A new functional map is discovered in area V4 of the macaque monkey. Unlike previously demonstrated maps that are all correlated with object features (e.g., color and orientation), the new map is correlated with the direction of motion. The image shows a new tribe being discovered from the earth, a close analogy with the discovery of a new functional map in the brain: depending on the way of observation, new maps are always expected to be discovered in these functional globes.
