( O; X4 F7 [3 z1 d  X) G# w! F  L8 R  英文摘要：Just like embryonic stem cells, iPS cells can divide indefinitely and differentiate into the three germ layers. Unlike embryonic stem cells, however, iPS cells used to be differentiated cells. Might they retain some genetic or cellular 'memory' of their previous life as a skin cell or a muscle cell? Recent studies suggest that they do, in the form of epigenetic markers on the DNA. These markers are methyl, acetyl and other chemical groups that attach to the DNA, turning some genes off and others on. Cells acquire epigenetic markers as they differentiate, and they maintain some of them when they dedifferentiate into iPS cells.
