the stem cell revolution start? It was back in the 1960s that two Canadian researchers, Ernest A. McCulloch
2 M) A0 O, F7 K! c. |) r) cand James E. Till, launched the field of stem cell research with their groundbreaking work on the hematopoietic
' E0 f/ o2 G6 d1 Cstem cells of mouse bone marrow. By designing clonogenic assays to measure stem cell differentiation6 @8 U3 q1 b+ x& o& m, M% B3 ^1 _
in vitro and serial transplantation assays to study stem cell repopulating ability in vivo, Till and
7 s- C1 s2 [7 q: `McCulloch defined the hallmark characteristics of stem cells.
