The field of stem cell research has come a long way in 50 years, as we hope will be apparent from this
4 t, M7 S3 T6 A& I7 I5 ~year’s Special Review Issue. Our goal in this issue is to highlight the remarkable biological features of
5 U" @8 O# Q; W' hstem cells, the molecular pathways that control these characteristics, and the ways in which these enigmatic8 S3 R0 Z8 n8 m6 }1 d8 y+ z
cells can be exploited for cell replacement therapy. We would like to thank the many distinguished
